Gymnastics World has an active, strong, and successful team program. Competing under USA Gymnastics rules and guidelines for levels 4 and above, and coached by experienced staff members who insist on correct and state-of-the-art developmental processes, the team has flourished. We have a gym designed specifically for training competitive gymnasts. Our gym provides a variety of means for a gymnast to learn difficult gymnastics tricks in the safest possible way through utilizing in-ground resi-mat landings, in-ground trampoline and tumble track, and overhead bungie systems. You are welcome to come take a look, and observe our team program in action.
LEVEL 4T TEAM
2005-2006
Our team program starts when a child is chosen to be on Pre Team, usually at age 5 or 6. Students at this level start learning the basics of routines and the foundations of skill development, which stay with them throughout their gymnastics career.
The next step on our team-track for students is what we call the 4T's group. Here the girls begin learning the Level 4 skills which will be put together to form the compulsory routines with which they will compete when they become members of our Level 4 Team.
LEVEL 4-6 TEAM
2005-2006
Level 4 is the entry team level, and is usually a girl's first experience in competing. Once a child has become part of our competitive team their goal is to qualify for the next two compulsory levels, Levels 5 and 6. Students competing these compulsory levels do the same routines as do all the gymnasts throughout the world. Each level is increasingly more difficult with different routines and skills, making each level harder to master. It is not uncommon for a gymnast to spend one or two years at each of these levels.
LEVEL 7 - 9 TEAM
2005-2006
Once a Level 6 gymnast has qualified for Level 7, she has the fun of competing with optional routines, which are designed especially for her and her strengths. Level 7 is an entry level to optional gymnastics and is designed to get the gymnast ready for the higher, more difficult levels to come.
Gymnasts who have qualified for Level 8 or higher are very serious about the sport. They have usually chosen gymnastics as their main sport. These talented girls spend a lot of their time in the gym perfecting their skills and routines, and are extremely strong, fit, and capable athletes and individuals. Their rewards are found in the satisfaction that comes with accomplishing something which takes lots of hard work, and in the fun of competing throughout the state. Each season our higher level team travels to at least one meet outside Connecticut, and has competed in Pennsylvania, Florida, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Arizona, and Las Vegas.
